Jurgen Klopp has called for Liverpool to keep more clean sheets as the season moves on, as reported by the club’s official website.
What did he say?
Liverpool were defensively solid against the Cherries on Saturday, with the home side going the entire game without getting a single shot on target, firing off three in total.
This makes a change for Klopp’s side, as that was their first clean sheet in 15 games across all competitions.
That meant that the clean sheet brought Klopp joy, but he demanded that his team begins making them more often:
“I forgot how it feels, to be honest! It’s great, we should have them more often. It was the most-used word in the dressing room by the boys – ‘clean sheet, clean sheet, clean sheet’.
“Obviously everybody was desperate for that, now we have it so let’s have it more often. The next game where a clean sheet would be useful is already around the corner, against Salzburg on Tuesday. It feels good.”

A big contrast
Liverpool have pulled multiple teams apart this season and are currently a real threat to any side, sitting eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table, having won each of their last seven league games.
While it can be suggested that they have come on as a unit, there can be an argument made that the team has actually regressed in a defensive sense.
No clues: Can you name the season these iconic Liverpool images belong to?
Last season, they managed 21 league clean sheets, the most in the top tier, though there are currently only five teams in the league who have fewer than their three.
There are factors that may have played into this, such as the injury that saw Alisson miss seven games.
Though they will now be looking to ensure this record is improved as they aim towards the Premier League title.
In other news, Liverpool fans have been reacting to Dejan Lovren sustaining an injury.
