Liverpool hosted Unai Emery's Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday evening, knowing that a win would propel them to a five-point lead atop the Premier League standings. And that was exactly what Arne Slot's men did as they cruised to a 2-0 win with goals from Nunez and Mohamed Salah.

Nunez has been fairly underwhelming so far this season under Slot as the Uruguayan striker has only found the back of the net three times in 12 games. However, the 25-year-old has shown a lot of promise and has undertaken a number of quality moments so far. Konate has now urged Nunez to use the goal as a reference point to propel his form.

Speaking to Liverpool media, Konate said: "I'm very happy for him [Nunez] and he has to keep going, keep pushing and he will score more goals, I'm sure."
Konate also spoke about Slot's impact on the team and said: "You just have to see our results – we start the season very well. But I don't want to put too much pressure on him. I know he's a perfectionist but now it's just the start of the season, we just have to work and to be better day after day. At the end of the season, we will see the impact that he brings to us."
WHAT NEXT FOR NUNEZ?
Despite his lack of form, Nunez has constantly received backing for Slot and the same will likely continue after the international break when Liverpool return to action with a clash against Southampton on November 24.
