Over the weekend, Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao reached 18 goal contributions this season – something no other under-17 player had achieved in a single campaign in the 21st century in the Brazilian Serie A. That took him past the previous record holder, Neymar, who registered 16 goals and assists while playing for Santos in 2009. Now, the 32-year-old has paid tribute to the teenager.

He wrote in an Instagram story: "Congratulations [Estevao] for the broken record. May you continue to shine and enchant everyone with your soccer. Fly."

Estevao will head to Chelsea next summer when he turns 18 after agreeing a deal that could rise to £56 million ($73m). Such a fee brings with it a lot of pressure and expectation, but the youngster appears to be delivering on that hype right now after this record-breaking feat.
