Son Heung-Min’s move to Los Angeles FC is making headlines not only for shattering MLS transfer records, but also for the respect he’s shown toward those who built the club’s legacy. The former Tottenham star spoke warmly about Carlos Vela, calling the Mexican forward an inspiration and setting his own sights on leaving a similar mark in Los Angeles.
The South Korean recalled facing Vela in the past and praised his impact: “Honestly, I’m not at his level yet. Carlos is incredible – a fantastic player. What he did for this team makes him a true legend. When my time here ends, I want people to remember me as someone who gave everything for this club. That’s why I’m here – to earn a place among those names.”
